Friday Night Football

Tonight we are looking at Toledo vs BYU.

Toledo comes in undefeated and at riding high. Though the schedule has not had many tough opponents they have controlled every game so far and the defense has given up a total of 30 points this season. The Rockets QB Logan Woodsode has been impressive up to this point throwing for 939 yards and 11 touchdowns and only 1 pick. He has not made many mistakes.

BYU has had to run a gauntlet so for this season, facing Arizona, Utah, UCLA and WVU. They are 1-3 and those three losses came by a combined 7 points. BYU QB has had his moments both good and bad, and has thrown 6 picks in four games. RB Williams has been solid but has faced some tough run defenses. BYU will need to take care of the ball and have some 3 and outs against Toledos offense.

BYU has only given up 20 points once this season and that was to WVUs offense. We believe that Williams will find some holes to gash Toledos run defense and in doing so will take some pressure off of Hill and control some clock to keep Toledos offense from getting into a rthym. This should be a good one but we think BYU finds a way to finish tonight.

Pick: BYU ML

Good Luck and happy betting!!

Thursday night NFL pick!!!

  • "Great White" Big Unit Play: N/A
  • "Great White"Small Unit Play:  Miami +7.5
  • "Great White"Flyer:
-Big Unit Play:

-Small Unit Play:  Miami +7.5. Both teams come in 1-2. Miami off a ot win against the browns. Adam game has said that people will be getting benched if play doesn't improve. He has already benched CB maxwell. Tonight we think they get the fire lit under them. Tannahill has got to secure the ball. Already 4 ints  on the season. And Miami must find a rushing game. It has been non existent since the start of the season. The Bengals have had a rough schedule to navigate in the early part of the season. And we think on a short week that it will cost them tonight. Andy dalton has a chance for great numbers tonight but we believe Miami keeps this one close. Through out.

Thursday Night Football

Thursday night is back upon us once again. Tonight our main focus game is Kansas vs Texas Tech.

Lets look at some numbers, Texas Tech is averaging 61 points a game, and 678.7 yards a game. This is a explosive offense. Mahomes numbers are on pace to break NCAA records this year. Texas Tech defense, well that a whole different story. The defense is giving up 43 points a game and 531.3 yards a game. Arizona State hung 68, while Louisiana Tech scored 45.

Kansas has been Kansas again this year. They have turned the ball over 11 times in three games. Turning the ball over against Tech will spell big trouble because they will make you pay. The Kansas defense is looking better than the past years so there are signs of improvement but the offense just turns the ball over way to much for the defense to really be effective.

The Red Raiders offense is a well oiled machine that is simply running perfectly right now. Mahomes will have over 400 yard passing and at least four touchdowns if not more. Kansas will hit a few plays due to the lack of defense Tech plays but, there is no reason for us to believe that they can keep up. Especially when they start turning the ball over, like they seem to do a lot of.

Pick: Texas Tech -28 (as always buy the hook if possible)

Good Luck and happy betting!!!!!!!

Saturday Tailgating

As I awoke this morning I felt something that I have been waiting to show up. Fall weather!  The air was crisp this morning, and when you walked outside you could just feel that the season had finally turned and you could just smell football weather was here. To celebrate this wonderful turn of events we will choose one of the greatest fall foods there is for this weeks Saturday tailgating food.

Chili!

There is nothing in the world quite like a bowl of chili. There are so many ways to eat it, with crackers or  Fritos and sour cream. You can pour it over tortilla chips and top with cheese. Hell you can even eat it straight out of the pot. Although people at you tailgate might get a little upset at you. Today we bring you a personal recipe of mine. Mango Habanero Chili.

I was messing around in the kitchen when I came up with this amazing idea. Take 2.5 pounds of hamburger fry it till brown. Mix in a pack of Chili-O seasoning. In your pot combine 2 cans of pinto beans, two cans of light red kidney beans, small can of tomato paste, and a medium can of tomato sauce. Combine the hamburger in the pot with the other ingredients. Now add garlic powder, hot sauce, black pepper, salt, the juice from a jar of jalapenos and one jar of Mango Habanero sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings. Cook for about 10 mins, and let simmer another 5 and you are ready to enjoy.

To wash it down grab a Goose Island Ale and life wont get much sweeter.
Its a perfect combo that will have your taste buds dancing.

Hope you guys have a great weekend of sports and spirits. I know I will.

Heisman Watch

Heisman Watch

It seems to be the norm on Saturdays now. Lamar Jackson putting on a show. Even 7 total touchdowns in a game really did not get anyone excited. Sure it was against a Marshall squad that gave up 65 points the week before to Akron, but 7 touchdowns in one game is still impressive yet we don't see it as impressive when Jackson does it.

                                                                 1. Lamar Jackson, QB Louisville

Had a total of 479 yards against Marshall last week. But no time to enjoy it as the Cards have to travel to Death Valley Saturday night to take on #5 Clemson
                          2. Christian McCaffery, RB Stanford

McCaffery was held out of the end zone yet again in a road game. He had 138 total yards. We are waiting on something great from McCaffery, I can feel it. Fun fact you probably didnt know, McCaffery has never scored a TD in a true road game in his career!!!
                                 3. Donnel Pumphrey, RB San Diego State
He had a bye week and we are not moving him till he gains less than 200 yards in a game.
                            4. Patrick Mahomes II, QB Texas Tech
Another player that had a bye week. Why Mahomes is not getting more love is beyond me. If he keeps up this pace he deserves to be in New York
                 5. Greg Ward jr, QB Houston

Greg Ward is putting up solid numbers. But the competition he is competing against, his numbers need to be spectacular. Because as of now, J.T Barrett and Deshaun Watson are ready to take this spot away.

MNF Atlanta at New Orleans!!! Pick is up

  • "Great White" Big Unit Play: N/A
  • "Great White"Small Unit Play: New Orleans -3
  • "Great White"Flyer:
-Big Unit Play: None

-Small Unit Play:  New Orleans -3. New Orleans comes in 0-2. But both games were lost by late 4th quarter scores. After giving up 38 to the Raiders the defense bounced back holding the Giants to 16 points and created 3 turnovers. The Falcons have yet to show a defense on the field this year. Giving up a total of 52 points in the first two weeks. Stars will shine tonight but in the end we believe New Orleans defense gets more stops and turnovers.

Monday Night Football Cocktail

Monday Night Football comes to us from New Orleans tonight as the Falcons will do battle with the Saints. New Orleans is surely known as a party town and have invented some of the worlds greatest drinks. So choosing one for tonight was no easy task. But someone has to try them and I guess that might as well be me.

We have decided that tonight kick back and enjoy a classic. The Hurricane, invented in New Orleans  in the 1940s by bar owner Pat O'Brien. It is as simple as it is delicious. It is a sweet cocktail that goes down easy and has the ability to sneak up on you. The ingredients include, dark rum, light rum, passion fruit juice, and orange juice.

Kick back and enjoy a great game tonight with a Hurricane. Only complaint you will have is having to work in the morning!!!

Sunday Night Football

Hey there sports fans. Hope you have been following u this weekend. We are 8-1 (still waiting on the Tampa game) since Thursday. Tonight's game is a layoff for us. We would love to give you a winner but to us there is just no way to trust either of these teams right now. Instead of just posting one, we would rather post winners we are confident in. We will have a pick for tomorrow night. So check back with us so we cal all make some money!!!

5-1 headed into Week 3

Hey Everybody. Sorry for running late.  Just waking up.  Been a long weekend.  Anyway, Sports and Spirits is 5-1 since Thursday's list of games thanks to a 3-0 sweep from College Football.  Let's keep it going.  Here's 'Great White's Picks for Sunday NFL games:

Buffalo +4.5
This is my absolute monster play right here.  I think Rex Ryan and that defense finally pulls it together and swarms Carson Palmer.  I predict Lesean McCoy finds a couple holes within that AZ line and does enough for the Bills to cover the spread.

Green Bay -6.5
Green Bay has not looked great coming into Week 3.  However, it's their first game at home against a team that they are pretty used to destroying on a yearly basis.  Detroit has looked pretty good but I think they get brought down to earth tonight with Clay Matthews and other members of the defense getting to Stafford.

Indianapolis -1.5
San Diego went off last week but they're similar to Detroit right now.  They haven't shown a whole lot because they haven't played a real squad yet.  Although Indy is 0-2 they're gonna figure it out tonight at home.  Frank Gore is gonna go off control the clock to take pressure off Luck.

Tampa Bay -3.5
Today at 3:25 pm CST Jameis Winston pulls his head out his ass and realized what uniform his receivers are wearing.  Coming off 4 picks I believe he straightens himself out.  I understand Doug Martin isnt' playing but that's not the issue with the offense.  Tampa's line is going to eat Case Keenum especially after such an embarrassing showing from last week.

There you go.  Short and Sweet Picks.  Happy Betting.

"Great White"

RIP Jose Fernandez

He was the young fun, charismatic pitcher we hated for our team to be facing. Jose was full of life and competitiveness when he stepped on the baseball diamond. Did not matter if he was striking out 13, or hitting a home run and starring at it. He had a passion for the game you could just see in the greats.

Joe Maddon was once quoted as saying "Jose Fernandez might be the best young pitcher I've ever seen, at that age. I believe he will go far". That was in his rookie year. Jose could have possibly turned in a HOF career with his dominate stuff.

Jose Fernandez died last night/early this morning off the coast of Miami. He was 24 yrs old and had a lifetime of baseball and just living to do. Thank you Jose for putting on a great show the little time you were with us. RIP, The baseball world will miss you.

More Saturday Picks

Just going to give some quick picks

#3 Louisville @ Marshall
Louisville Scored 63 on FSU last week. Marshall gave up 65 to Akron. Until proven wrong we are rolling with overs on Marshall games.

Pick: Louisville/Marshall over 71

Oklahoma State @ #16 Baylor
Both teams are averaging 44 point a game. The cowboys gave up a total of 65 points to Central Michigan and Pitt. Baylor who has not played anyone with a good offense this year. Has been putting up solid numbers. This game screams over. Not to us.

Pick : Oklahoma State @ Baylor under 74

Good luck and happy betting

Saturday College Football

Welcome to Saturday College Football.

Today we are starting out with Florida State @ USF. Florida State is coming off a down right embarrassing loss to Louisville last week. Nothing worked for them in the 63-20 loss. Now they have to go on the road again to take on a 3-0 USF team. USF has been putting up great numbers as bulls QB flowers has been very efficient 7tds with one INT. The bulls also bring a balanced attack and they rush the ball with everybody. 5 players have 99 or more yards rushing this year.

The Seminoles better get out of the funk quick before their season completely unravels. Dalvin Cook has got to get going in this game. We have yet to see this pre season hopful have a great game this year.

Florida State has to now re-evaluate its season and get angry. Sorry bulls fans the best thing that could have happened last week was Florida State winning. USF is on the way up but they are not there yet. Look for this one to stay close possibly in the third but Florida State just will have too many weapons.

Pick: Florida State -7

More picks coming later!

Friday Night Football

There are a couple of options tonight if your looking for action. We are going to focus TCU at SMU.
SMU is 2-1 on the season but those two wins came against North Texas and Liberty and while they were double digit wins they were not overly convincing. TCU QB Kenny Hill will have a chance for a big night but SMUs defense seemed to confuse Baylor in the first half 2 weeks ago, if the mustangs can come up with a game plan to confuse TCU then they might be able to stay in striking distance

SMU must stay close in this game, if they get down then it is over because they simply can not throw the ball. Ben Hicks has thrown for 583 yards 2 TDS and 5 INTs. So Braeden West must find running lanes tonight.

TCU will come out and jump on the scoreboard early and make SMU play catch up. TCUs defense has not been able to create turnovers this year, only 1 so far this season back in week one vs South Dakota State. TCU will need to find away to create turnovers. If SMU finds a way somehow to run the ball and hit some big plays with Sutton it will be game on. But we don't see it happening. TCU will come out and jump on the scoreboard early and make SMU play catch up. Once this happens It is all over.

Pick : TCU -21
buy the hook if possible.

Good Luck and happy betting

Thursday Night NFL

  • "Great White" Big Unit Play: N/A
  • "Great White"Small Unit Play: New England +1
  • "Great White"Flyer:
-Big Unit Play:  Why no Big Unit Play?  Simple. Brisset, the unknown with him makes any bet tonight a very tough one to call.

-Small Unit Play:  New England +1 is what we are riding tonight. We figure the Pats to run Blount a lot tonight and try and control the clock with a third string QB, hopefully opening up easy throws for Brisset. The Texans defense will be good but we thank that Bellicheks defense confuses and get more stops on Osweiler than the Texans do on Brisset.

"GREAT WHITE"

Clemson at Georgia Tech

Welcome back Football!

It has been a long and rough two days but now it has returned. Last week from Thursday through Saturday, we posted a 4-1 record for college football. hopefully we can keep those numbers up there this week.

#5 Clemson at Georgia Tech
Clemson -10 O/U58

Tonight we get a match up in the ACC between #5 Clemson traveling to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech.
As always when you have Georgia Tech playing, the styles will be completely opposite. Georgia Tech runs the triple option which can be a major headache for any defense, especially one on a short week. The Yellow Jackets will need Justin Thomas to complete more than 6-13, like he did last week against Vandy. If the defense can get a couple of turnovers and the offense starts controlling the clock, Tech will have a chance to pull the upset.

Clemson got its tune up game against a weak South Carolina State team, and it might have been exactly what the doctor ordered. The offense got in rhythm and the Tigers posted 59 points up on the scoreboard while allowing 0 points. My wildcard tonight will be Clemson running back Wayne Gallman, he needs to go off and move the chains. If Tech goes on long drives the last thing you want to do is go 3 and out.

All the ingredients are there, Thursday night, home unranked double digit underdog, the first day of fall. It has upset written all over it, and that is exactly why we don't see it happening tonight. Most of the upsets are games you don't see coming. Georgia Tech is going to run the ball and they are going to put the ball in the endzone. The only problem is so is Clemson. We see a night of big plays and Clemson winning by a comfortable margin.

Our Pick: Over 58

Good Luck to everybody tonight!!

WTF IS THIS?!

So during the day I have a 9-5 office job.  It's been a pretty rough week so I been on "liquid lunches" for the last three days.  I hit the Millennium Bar in Downtown Chicago, which is right across the street from Millennium Park. I go in have a glass of Pinot Noir.  Can't be drinking hard shit while still on the job.  This hot ass brunette who always serves me give me my glass. but along with it she gave me this bullshit.

Not to be too obvious, but this is a Coors Lights coaster meant to be utilized within the bar for bar glasses.  No big Deal. Except for one thing. NO BAR GLASS FITS ON THE SHIT! I set my wine glass on this piece of shit and it spilled all over my shirt.  There's red wine all over my yellow shirt and I had to be back at work in 20 minutes.  Then the bartender offers me a new glass of wine along with a bar napkin(which I should've had in the first place) versus the primary.  By now, she's noticing the new coaster doesn't have my approval.  I mean she's hot...but she's still not blonde so she put together the pieces of the puzzle. LOL. Anyway, I go the bathroom to try to get the stains off.  Of course, it doesn't happen.  10 minutes left til I have to go to work.  I realized that after I paid for the glass of wine, I had like $20 left on me. So I shoot over to Macy's to get replacement shirt.  Mind you, I work in downtown Chicago. Finding a shirt for under $20 that's work appropriate ain't the easiest.  3 minutes left.  I'm in Macy's and I finally a polo for like $14 before tax.  I slip it on, sprint back to work (20 minutes late) and slide past my bosses with my head down trying not to get noticed. That whole situation was completely bullshit and put me in a crazy situation.

Moral of the Story
A COASTER MUST BIG ENOUGH TO HOLD THE GLASS!

HEY BIG BEER VENDORS: Stop trying get all cute with your mountain-shaped beer coasters and go back to the original rectangular shits with the ice cold mountains on them.  That glass of wine cost me about $25.  What's Coor's Headquarters address?  Somebody is gonna reimburse me. Yup.  I plan on being petty.  Don't judge.  Just deal with it.  The Irony?  People go to the bar forget about their problems.

Thanks for Listening Sports Fans.

Daily Fantasy because we need the action

It's Wednesday and there is nothing going yet football wise. We have the hockey world cup and baseball coming down to its final games of the year. So what can we do to get a little action running tonight?  We are going to do some Daily Baseball Fantasy.

Pitcher: Bartolo Colon  7,800
Averages 14 fantasy point per outing and is facing a horrible braves Offense that ranks 25th in the majors

Pitcher: Corey Kluber 11,900
Kluber has recorded 20 or more points in his last 7 outings, on had 26.4 last time he faced the Royals.

Catcher: Francisco Cervelli 3,200
When you go for guys like Kluber you must find some bargains (doesn't always work out) Cervelli has scored Fantasy points in his last 7 games, not a lot of points mind you, but has scored double digits in 2 of his last 3

First Baseman: Carlos Santana 4,700
a lot of people will pay for big poppy tonight, Not us. because we are going Carlos who has scored 12 or more fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games. Do note that he is only 1 for 11 lifetime against Ian Kennedy.

Second Base: Adam Frazier 3,500
Again we are looking for some bargain out of this pick. but Adam has cored points in 10 straight and double digits in 2 of his last 3

Short Stop: Jose Iglesias 2,700
This is our shot in the dark he if does anything we are happy with him. he has cored 3,7,3,10 in his last four games and is 1-1 batting a 1.000 off of Berrios

Third Baseman: Kris Bryant 4,500
Because its Kris Bryant. hitting .296 37hrs 97rbis and is facing the Reds pitching staff that has been horrid this season. Kris always has the ability to go for over 20 points.

Out Field: Jason Heyward 3,000
We know the decline of his bat since he came into the league and smashed a HR on his first at bat. but again its against the Reds. If the Reds Stephenson comes out and throws a no hitter we are going to be pissed!!

Out Field: Camron Maybin 4,000
Maybin has actually been a hitting machine this season batting average is .316 and is averaging over 8 Fantasy points a game. And he faces Berrios whose era is 8.88

Out Field: Mark Trumbo 4,600
Its Boston at Baltimore. Seen a lot of fantasy points get put up when these guys meet up. Our hope is that Trumbo knocks out his 44th hr of the year.

There is our Lineup for tonight  If you guys are playing good luck.

Saturday Tailgating

Last year I was invited over to my cousins to watch Saturday college football. I ask what he needed me to bring and he said "just you and your appetite". He has a knack for making great food for watching football. So my brother and I made the hour and a half drive down. We had brats, burgers, veggies and dip. But there was one amazing sandwich he had made that I still love eating today.

The Beef and Peppercino Sandwich

It is a simple but tasty recipe. He credits a wonderful lady, Beverly Hager Smith for giving him the recipe. And for that my taste buds thank her.

Get a beef roast 3-5 pounds and a jar of peppercinos. Use a crockpot or oven, place the roast in the pan or crockpot and pour the jar of peppercinos over the beef  and let cook till tear apart tender. Take your bun use a garlic butter spread and toast it.

Of course about any ice cold beer of your choice would go great with this great sandwich, but I recommend a glass of sweet iced tea with lemon vodka.

Happy tailgating everybody, and may your stomachs stay full.

Heisman Watch

Heisman Watch

Another week down and another week we seen great performances. Starting with Donnel Pumphrey, senior running back out of San Diego State. Last week Donnel proved that his 298 yard against Cal was no fluke as he rolled up the yards on Northern Illinois to the tune of 220 on 23 carries. For the season Pumphrey has rushed for 599 yds on 73 carries and 7 touchdowns. He is averaging a ridiculous 8.2 yards a carry. Its time to start looking at Pumphrey as a true Heisman contender.

                                                                 1. Lamar Jackson, QB Louisville

Lamar had yet another spectacular game last week against #2 ranked FSU. Throwing for 216, 1 TD and 1 INT. But he done most of his damage on the ground with 146 rushing yards and 4 TDs.

                          2. Christian McCaffery, RB Stanford

Had a solid day rushing for 172 against the USC defense. He is averaging 235 all purpose yards a game and has 4 TDs in two games this season. You just get the feeling that somewhere down the line he is going to have to have that magical Heisman moment if hes going to catch Lamar Jackson

                                 3. Donnel Pumphrey, RB San Diego State

Back to back 200 plus games is a great way to start the first half of the season. If he continues this pace he will be sitting front row in New York for the presentation.

                            4. Patrick Mahomes II, QB Texas Tech

Lamar Jackson gets a lot of hype because of his 18 TDs but guess what that's the same number that Mahomes has. Now if the knock you have on him is they lost, stop it. You put up 55 points your team should win.

                 5. Greg Ward jr, QB Houston

Sure Ward threw for 326 yards and TD against Cincy, and yes he had a banged up shoulder and took some hard hits. but he also threw a couple INTS one in the end zone that almost cost them the game. If not for the defense back to back pick sixes late. the Bearcats probably win that game.

MNF 7-0 Going for Clean 8-0 Sweep!

What's good fellow money makers? Hope everyone been following us over the weekend.  We're currently 7-0 following the Vikings win last night.  Going for 8-0 tonight.  Here we go!

MNF: Philadelphia vs. Chicago (-3)

Pick: Chicago (ML)

I know this doesn't look like the ideal pick.  Trust me. Let me first state that I grew up a Chicago Bears fan and they're fuckin' killin my fandom over the last couple of years.  Let me state this for the record: I AM NOT A HOMER, AND I DONT' BET WITH MY HEART!

Now that we're clear on that, here's what I'm thinking:

Logic
-Bears are 1-7 at home last season. Awful! Luckily, this isn't the same team.  Their defense is a lot stronger than people think.  Carson Wentz still has something to prove against a pass rush.  Cleveland didn't have one last week and Carson torched them.
-There's nobody on the Eagles defense that scares me.  I don't think their secondary can hold White and Jeffrey, 2 very big receivers.  If Jay Cutler doesn't screw the pooch (as he's known to do) they could be in line for a good night
- Why ML and not -3?  BECAUSE I DON'T TRUST CULER OR THE BEARS.  But most importantly Cutler.  I think he's horrible and my team just doesn't impress me overall.  They're not going to win many games this year. But this is a great opportunity for them to get a win.
-I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears won this won by 1/2 points on a field goal at home.  But fuck that. I'm not trusting them yet with any spread.

GOOD LUCK YALL!!

Monday is here!!!

Welcome all to that hated Monday. Hopefully you were following our page and had a great weekend. As the Site went 7-0 on College and NFL. But tonight we have Philly coming to the windy city to try and knock off the Bears. And fortunately for all of you we have done our research and found the perfect companion for tonight's game.

Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale. Brewed in Chicago starting in 1988. 312 is a crisp fruity ale that I think walks the line perfectly between a wheat beer and a fruity crossover beer. 312 is unfiltered so you doesn't lose any taste through the filtering stages like some others. It also has the ability to go with a wide range of foods that you may have at your Monday Night Football party. It has 4.2% abv and contains 126 calories.

This is our Spirit choice for tonight. No matter if you are enjoying a Chicago deep dish, beef and peppers or as a Eagles fan you have one of those great Philly cheese steaks , This Ale works for everybody. Enjoy the game and Spirits!!!

6-0 NFL Week 2

I hope you've been tuning in to us an making money with us because we're 6-0 between College and NFL Football.  We also hope you were with us on LA and Cleveland for the Morning & Afternoon Games.  Let's keep it rolling shall we?

Sunday Night Football: Green Bay(-3) vs. Minn

Pick: Minn +3

Logic:  Similar reasoning behind the LA Rams call earlier.  I think Minn gets to Aaron Rodgers a little bit and controls the run game with A.P.  Sam Bradford isn't elite by any means, but I believe he can do enough to manage this game.  Their first game at home should give the Defense/ST an extra boost.  Let's see if we can sweep Sunday so we can get ready for MNF. Good Luck.

NFL PICKS (4-0 weekend)

Happy Sunday! If you've been following us since Thursday Night Football then you're undefeated for the weekend. Let's try and keep it rolling.

Here are today's picks for the early games:

Cleveland +6
Look for Josh Gordan and other Cleveland wideouts be able to get free through Baltimore secondary.  Also, I see Forsett being contained this week.  Might not be as close as i originally think, but I can definitely see a possible back door cover via the Browns.

Los Angeles +5.0
I know this pick looks a little crazy, but I got a hunch.  I'm thinking LA Rams defense shows up against Russell Wilson.  I think they are able to get pressure and contain him within the pocket.  also, Todd Gurley hopefully will be able to maintain the clock.  Let's not forget. Rams beat these guys twice last year in the division.

College Football Picks Sept. 17

Stanford is leading the way for us today. They had a very inconsistent game against Kansas State in the opener, and did not play up to their best ability in my opinion. There were certainly signs that Hogan is being missed behind center.  But the Cards have McCaffery and he means a heck of a lot. Lets face it, Heltons Trojans flat got embarrassed by Bama in the opener and then they beat a decent Utah State team. USC is too talented to lay another egg and will have its moments in this game. It will be a thriller through three quarters and then the big one from McCaffery on a tired USC defense will break the Trojans.

PICK: Stanford -8

Time for our Saturday over call. Akron at Marshall. These two teams will be throwing the ball a lot in this one.  Akron is going to try and hit the long ball all afternoon. and they will connect on a few. However the Akron defense is giving up 75% pass completion to opposing QBS. Expect the Herd and Litton to take advantage of this. Litton throws for 350 5 TD.

Pick: Akron/Marshall over 56

Normally I can be a sucker for the home underdog small school. But not on this one. Appy State had their  chance and could not close out a Tennessee team that didn't show up to play. They wont get another chance. Miami has a great one two punch in the backfield with Walton and Yearby each averaging over 8yds a carry. And the Miami defense is first in the nation on run defense. Miami will limit the big plays from the Mountaineers making life rough treading today.

Pick: Miami -4

Bonus Oktoberfest Fest Pick:  Michigan State +7

Good Luck

Happy Oktoberfest!!

Thursday Night College Football

 Houston Cougars @ Cincinnati Bearcat

Spread Houston -7.5
Total: 65

Houston is going into Nippert Stadium as the number six ranked team in the land. A big win versus Oklahoma in the opener has Cougar fans dreaming of the playoffs.  But Greg Ward jrs still has soreness in his non throwing shoulder after sitting against Lamar last week. Last year Ward only managed to throw for 162 yards against the Bearcats defense, as they made him beat them with his legs. If the Bearcats come up with a way to stop Ward again you have to wonder will his shoulder hold up to the hits he will take rushing the ball down the field.

Cincinnati made one of the more baffling decisions in the offseason when Hayden Moore beat out Gunner Kiel, and it is working. The sophomore has led the Bearcats to a 2-0 start with a very balanced offensive attack. Last week versus Purdue the Cats passed for 250 yards and rushed for 262 yards.

Close games is what this series is about. The last three matchups have been decided by a total of 18 points. Nippert Stadium will be rocking at the start of the game and it ill be up to the Bearcat players to keep it that way. Moore will have to make just enough tough throws to keep Cincinnati in the game. Houston has to avoid turnovers. The Cats had 5 ints last week in the Purdue win. Houston needs to treat this as a business trip. If Ward does not throw for over 200 yds this year, Houston is in trouble.

Our Pick: Bearcats +8 (buy the hook if possible)

Good Luck!!!!!

Thursday Night NFL Picks

Thursday Night Football!

New York Jets (-1.5) vs. Buffalo Bills
Ov/Un: 40.0

Image result for bills vs jets

  • "Great White" Big Unit Play: N/A
  • "Great White"Small Unit Play: Over 40.0
  • "Great White"Flyer: Bills +1.
-Big Unit Play:  Why no Big Unit Play?  Simple.  I don't trust hardly ANY football team this early in the season and I wouldn't dare put big money on either these teams just yet.  Especially with them being so identical.

-Small Unit Play:  Typically, any game involving two teams with 2 "supposedly" great defenses Las Vegas sets the total around mid-30's. Any game involving a Rex Ryan coached team (or teams- if you count him just leaving the Jets) usually has a spread around 35-ish and that game typically stays under.  I'm gonna go the other way tonight.  That spread just seems too high given the matchup.  My guess is Vegas know something.  Maybe it's the fact the weather is going to be beautiful in Buffalo tonight around near 70 degrees, along with the fact the Jets just gave up 23 points to Cincinnati, but I'm gonna take a small change on this one tonight.

-Flyer:  Taking a Flyer with the Bills. Bills have won the last 5 meetings between them and I'm praying the Universe doesn't decide to balance the shit out now.  Sammy Watkins is back.  He'll be covered by Darrelle Revis. Hopefully that frees other guys within the secondary for Taylor. If it was mid-season and there was a better overall feel for these teams, maybe I'd have more faith. But again..just way too early to go hard on either these teams.

Happy Betting!
