Friday Night College Football

There is something in the air, do you feel it? Something is not quite right on this Friday. Its not the 13th and Halloween is still over three weeks away. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, maybe too over cautious, I'm not sure.

Tonight we are focusing on SMU vs Tulsa. SMU has been a little bit of a dissapointment this season but what were we really expecting out of them on the season as a whole. Their Defense has shown to be a wall at points in some games against pretty good offenses in TCU and Baylor. But they have not been able to put it together for more than a half. The offense has not been what it was last year. It has went backwards (and yes that has to do with Davis getting hurt) and its something that Chad Morris must fix. And after the Temple game he was certainly critical of his O-line for leaving Ben hicks out to dry for him to take a ton of hits.

Tulsa comes in off a bye week, after a double overtime win against Fresno State, in which they were down 31-0 in the first half. Tulsa scores points averaging 38 points a game they also give up 30 points a game.
Tulsa will need to have the balanced offense that makes them dangerous and also need Evans to not turn the ball over as he has 6ints this season and SMU leads the nation interceptions with 12.

This game hinges on two players in my opinion, Courtland Sutton and Ben Hicks. Can SMU find a way to get Sutton down field on some big plays against the Tulsa secondary. If they can get him going early then it will take a lot of pressure off the running game and will open some lanes for Brewer to run through. Hicks need to stop throwing INTs, he has 9 this season. We think SMU comes out tonight ready to play. Tulsa should win the game but we think SMU hangs around tonight.

Pick: SMU +15

Oh and about that feeling that's in the air, be careful tonight. There could be traps everywhere tonight!!

Good Luck to all!!!

Thursday Night College Football

Its Thursday night and that means football. Tonight we are going to look at Western
Kentucky vs Louisiana Tech.

Louisiana Techs QB Ryan Higgins has been playing lights out this year. throwing for1415 yard 12 touchdowns and only 2 picks while completing 63.7% of his passes. One of the main reason is Trent Taylor. Taylor has 54 catches 753 yards and 8 touchdowns. But the offense is not a problem for these bulldogs, they are going to put up points. A defense that gave up 45 and 38 to Texas Tech and Middle Tennessee State, has the defense gotten better against the spread passing attack.

Western Kentucky is in the same boat as the Bulldogs, except for one aspect the Hill toppers are only converting 31% of 3rd down conversions. QB Mike White has to find a way to keep the chains moving and not have the offense stall out in this game.

I'm thinking points in this game. I think fast tempo and big plays will be there for both teams tonight. A lot of people i have talked with are asking themselves can Tech get enough stops to win? I'm on the other side, can Western Kentucky get enough stops to win. We are not sold on that fact, but we do like points tonight.

Pick: Over 68

Good Luck to all!

MNF Football Week 4

Hey Sports Fans!

Hope everybody has had a good weekend.  Sports and Spirits so far has had it's first losing weekend so far unfortunately.  Guess we had to cool off sometime.  Happens to the best.  Here's where we stand so far;

NCAA: 3-2
NFL: 1-3

Hopefully we can get that NFL record up with tonight's game.

Giants vs. Vikings -4
Pick: Giants +4

Analysis: I got Eli and Odell going in here and shutting people up after Odell's fight with that net on the sideline last week(The net won by the way).  The whole Giant's squad has been given a lot of bulletin board material all week.

Also, I can see Bradford folding under the Giants pressure tonight.  These guys can't stay undefeated forever.  Bradford ain't good enough for that shit. Plus they have no Peterson tonight.  Even if they win, I'd be surprised if they cover.  .

Good Luck Everybody!

Monday Night Football Cocktail!!

Monday Night Football heads to the twin cities tonight, to feature the New York Giants vs the Minnesota Vikings. While this should be a entertaining game tonight, for now we are focusing on what to sip on during the game.

Tonight we are going with a Minnesota home grown Ale that is brought to us from the Summit Brewing Company, out of Saint Paul Minnesota. This Extra Pale Ale is a great middle of the road Ale in my opinion. The mix between the bitterness that mellows nice with a malt breadline. The floral hops mixes perfectly with the malts sweetness. 5.2 ABV makes this a really great choice to watch the game with tonight. You will not regret the complex flavors that keeps your taste buds busy. Feel free to combine the EPA with just about any flavor of wing, but for me. I love the combo of this EPA and buckeye bbq wings.

Hope everybody enjoys the game and the spirits!!!

Sunday NFL Week 4

Morning Sports Fans!

Before I get to the picks let me just say that since sportsandspirits42ml opened a couple weeks ago, our winning percentage has been phenomenal.  Not just that, but we're giving them away for FREE. Everybody try and remember that and don't get sore if you take a loss. That's why it's called gambling. Ok... Moving on:

Seattle (-1)vs. NY Jets
Pick: Seattle (-1)

Denver (-3.5) vs. Tampa Bay
Pick: Tampa Bay +3.5

Dallas vs. San Francisco
Pick: San Francisco +1.5

Analysis: No analysis needed to be given. 1.  I'm a little under the weather and I don't' feel like giving it.  2.  Again, this site is free.  Just go off our stellar record over the last couple weeks and just take my word to be gospel.

Can you tell yet some ungrateful, broke ass loser has pissed me off recently? That's ok. We'll let that amateur continue to lose his coin while we thrive!  Hope everybody makes money today.

Happy Betting!

3:30 college football.

For the 3:30 games we are taking the top ten matchup. #8 Wisconsin vs #4 Michigan. Wisconsin has a good team that can be physically  punishing with their run game. And can stretch the field off of that. But we believe that Michigan will be more physical and will make more explosive plays. We do not think that wisky will be able to match the intensity they took on the road last week agains Michigan State.

Pick: Michigan -11

Saturday College Football

Here we go. It's Saturday College Football in October. Who's ready?
Here are some quick notes for the day

We are starting our day off with Texas at Oklahoma State. We know that Texas has won in Stillwater  since 1997. We also know that Texas has given up 47 and and 50 to ND and  California. We expect Oklahoma State to our score Texas as Mason Rudolph has a big day.

Pick: Oklahoma State -3

Today will be The first real test for Miami. The Hurricanes have been playing lights out on defense and and had a extra week to prepare for the triple option. Georgia Techs only loss came to Clemson. Where their offense was held to only 7 points. We think Miami will be looking a head to Florida State today and have trouble stopping the triple option.

Pick: Georgia Tech +8

More picks coming through the day!

Good luck and happy betting
